Oral Presentations


Oral presentations will be graded individually on their contribution, presentation, and reflection (10 minutes each presentation). Each student must prepare an outline of each presentation (on one page each) and submit a hard copy of the outline to the teacher (immediately before giving the presentation). The outline of the presentation must be printed, Times New Roman 11, spaces between the lines 1.15. On top of the page: name, ID, date, signature.

The first oral presentation (100 marks)

Give an oral report based on an informational interview with a person working in a field related to the students’ program. Students are graded individually on their contribution, presentation, and reflection.

Alternatively, students may conduct online research and prepare a presentation about their major and reflections about their future job.

Students should be able to answer the following questions:
  1. What are the duties and responsibilities of this job?
  2. What are the basic difficulties?
  3. What do you like about this job?
  4. What skills are required for this job?
  5. What facilities (technology/software, etc.) are used in your company?
  6. What will I need to learn?
  7. What are improvement and promotion opportunities?

The second oral presentation (100 marks)

Presentation on a topic related to workplace behaviors, ethics, and skills. Students conduct research and present key concepts and lead a class discussion and activities.
